The warm winds of summer are making their way through Muskoka this June and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get out and enjoy the new season. Here’s a look at 8 festivals, events, and shows coming up this month, including a look at Father’s Day and Canada Day.
Paddling Film Festival (June 14)
Join the paddling community at 7:30 pm for the 14th annual Paddling Film Festival at the Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville. This year’s World Tour will be screening in over 100 cities worldwide and will showcase the ups and downs of paddling life. You can purchase your tickets at the link above.
Gravenhurst Car Show (June 15)
This year marks 100 years of the Chevy Truck, as well as 26 years of the Gravenhurst Car Show. Last year’s show broke records and featured nearly 600 vehicles and thousands of spectators. Various vendors will be setting up nearby, such as the mobile Italian espresso bar “Wheelie Good Coffee” and “Wood Be Cute,” which sells 100% soy wax candles. Water Wood Style takes original photographs of Ontario’s natural beauty and digitally prints them onto 100% silk scarves and wraps. Admission to the event is granted with a donation.
Venture Fest (June 15)
Head over to the Muskoka Brewery at noon for the 2nd annual Venture Fest to celebrate the Brewery’s 23rd anniversary. Come out and enjoy the weather with beer, spirits, live music, food, and more. Try some delicious food from a local restaurant like Fresh Kutz or check out one of the many vendors, like Attilios Olive Oil or Cosmo’s Smoked Meats.

Father’s Day Car Show (June 16)
Come out to Manitoba Street in downtown Bracebridge for the Father’s Day Car Show beginning at 9 am. Check out a neat collection of new and old cars while enjoying live music and great local food. This is a free community event.
Spring into Summer Art Crawl (June 22)
Starting at 10 am, head over to downtown Gravenhurst for the Spring into Summer Art Crawl. This is a free community event that showcases local artists of all fields, including painters, dancers, poets, potters, jewellers, actors, and much more.
Bala Antique and Nostalgia Show Sale (June 28 - 30)
Spend a while in beautiful Bala for the Antique Nostalgia Show Sale featuring nearly 50 exhibitors. An eclectic mix of formal and country adorns unique furniture pieces, decor, jewellery, and other one-of-a-kind finds. Free parking and refreshments will be available.
Heritage Day at the Museum (June 29)
Head over to the Dorset Heritage Museum and Information Center beginning at 10 am for a day of celebration, history, and more. Peruse through displays featuring steam powered engines, antique cars, interactive outdoor exhibits, and the ‘Memories of Dorset’ short film series beginning at 10:30. Vendors will be selling a variety of local treats, like Johnny Creek Maple Syrup and Sherry’s Gourmet Preserves, Fruit Syrups, and Butter Tarts.
Funk Fest (June 29)
Celebrate Canada Day at Muskoka’s unique music and sour beer festival known as Funk Fest. The host of the event, Sawdust City Brewery in Gravenhurst, will be releasing several limited brews, including the Limberlost, at the event. This year’s festival is headlined by Born Ruffians, Sean Cotton, and Must Stash Hat.
